Knitted Star Quilt - my Ruby Star Society version
When I was thinking about my next Knitted Star quilt, I knew that I wanted this one to have pazazz! Don't get me wrong, I love love love my first two Knitted Star quilts, but I wanted one that sparkled! What better fabrics are there than Ruby Star Society basics?!
In case you missed it, here are the blog posts for my previous Knitted Star quilts:
Ruby Star Society has some super fun basics to choose from! I was instantly drawn to Spark by Melody Miller, because they really seamed to have that festive vibe that I was going for. Then I started looking at Speckled by Rashida Coleman Hale, and I fell in love!! I decided to combine the two and use a little bit of both!

From top to bottom, they are:
- Speckled in White Gold (my background & cornerstones)
- Spark in Peony
- Spark in Lipstick
- Speckled in Berry Metallic
- Spark in Roadster Red Metallic
- Speckled in Soft Emerald Green Metallic
- Speckled in Soft Aqua Metallic
- Speckled in Turquoise
- Speckled in Pine
Originally, I wanted to use Spark Ocean and Spark Peacock, but those are set to release until later this year. I think they'd be great substitutions, though!

I separated these blocks by color families....I have to say, I'm typically more drawn to the pinks, but those shades of greens and blues are just so so pretty! The throw size of this pattern requires only 8 blocks, so once they're constructed, the quilt comes together super quick!

I sent this quilt top off to my friend Andrea of Walker Quilt Co. and I told her that I wanted something that was free-handed. She ended up doing super fun swirls with some "Spark" motifs mixed in to match the fabric. I could not be more obsessed with how it turned out! Her talent amazes me!!

I used a Ruby Star Grid fabric for the binding. I was a little "iffy" about this color, to be honest. It goes really well with my backing, but it's quite different than the fabric that I used on the front. In the end, I decided that it tied the backing to the front of the quilt, so I went for it!! PS: my backing fabric is Aviary Botanical Ivory by Ruby Star Society. It's so pretty!

I've had a few questions about whether or not we will have quilt kits for this quilt and the answer is YES! However, the background fabric is backordered until September. Once we get that, I'll send out a newsletter to let you know. If you haven't signed up for my newsletter, you can do that here.

Don't forget, all quilt patterns are 20% off through Sunday, 7/12!
