2024 Gift Guide for Quilters & Quilt Lovers
It's hard to believe the holidays are next month, but have no worries because we have curated the best gift guide for quilters and quilt lovers! Just read through this blog post and you'll have your favorite quilter's stocking filled to the brim with fun and practical gifts! These are a few things that have caught our eye this year and I can’t wait to gift a few of them to my favorite quilters (or let's be honest...to ourselves!)

We're starting off this year's Gift Guide with a section dedicated to Western North Carolina Makers. As many of you know, our beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains were devastated by Hurricane Helene in late September. If you'd like to learn more about the devastation that occurred in our community and how to help, check our Hurricane Helene blog post. So many businesses are rebuilding and recovering (our area is filled with artists!) and we wanted to share some of our favorites in this guide.
First, we'd like to introduce you to Kelly from Kye & Hardy! She hand dyes beautiful cotton/linen fabrics just west of us in Asheville, North Carolina! As you know, we love to use different fabric textures in our quilts and her fabric made with a linen/cotton blend adds such a fun element to any quilt you might make. Check out all of the beautiful colors she offers and stay tuned to her instagram page to see when her next fabric drop is!
There is nothing better than a great baseball cap and this quilt block corduroy cap or indigo barn quilt cap is perfect to hang next on your favorite quilter's stocking hook. Ellison out of Boone, North Carolina specializes in quality leather & ceramics and has a few items with our beloved sawtooth star block! We also love his minimalist wallet & cardholder. Wouldn't this be so cute to pass out business cards at QuiltCon next February?!
There are some beautiful woven blankets made by local western NC artisans & we love that each woven design is named after towns in Western North Carolina. The Blue Ridge Blankets project's mission is revitalize the fiber economy in western North Carolina, by connecting fiber farmers, processors, dyers and weavers together, to produce locally sourced and crafted blankets. These blankets are an heirloom piece to be kept in families forever. Learn more about them here.
Michelle our Studio Assistant loves to embroider and she shared Cozy Blue Handmade with us. After seeing so many beautiful embroidered labels on quilts this fall, learning the basics of embroidery seems like such a fun adventure. We love that her page teaches you the basic embroidery stitches so you can get started right away! She has kits for all stages of learning, holiday kits & lots of other beautiful designs!
Like Black Mountain, a little mountain town called Burnsville was hit pretty hard. We found Kim Muller, a professional chandler that owns Burnsville Candle Company and she makes beautiful candles! Once your candle has been fully burned, reuse the lid as a wooden coaster (you know I love coasters!) and the vessel to store beautiful things!
Last but not least, add a bag of our favorite Poppy Popcorn made in Asheville to all of your gifts! While we haven't found a flavor we don't like, (the dill pickle is my favorite) their seasonal flavors are our favorite and we're so excited for them to drop in a just a couple of weeks. If you're wanting to directly support hurricane relief efforts, their Asheville Mix featuring art by Asheville’s own Annie Riker, is a limited-edition bag to celebrate Asheville's resilience. Together with Optimist Ventures, they're funding grants and mentorships for local entrepreneurs rebuilding their dreams.
While those are some of our favorite western North Carolina products, we spend a lot of the year finding stocking stuffers from unique makers all over the world!
First up are these beautiful Quilt Care Cards from Danielle at Coronado Quilt Co. Oftentimes we just find ourselves writing a quick note on how to wash a gifted quilt, but Danielle has definitely helped us level up our gift with these stunning Quilt Care Cards! Made on high quality paper with the simplest instructions, anyone that receives a handmade quilt will be so grateful to know how to wash their quilt! We also loved her Quilt Block Notecards to send a quick note to a friend.
Include a few of our beloved Lo & Behold Stickers or a canvas tote bag with a sketch of our historic studio! These are the perfect little add ons that will make any quilter happy.
Necklace charms are trending and these ceramic charms (here & here) by From Hadley Designs are the perfect quilting fashion accessory. Not only does she have these necklace charms, but she also makes adorable quilt block earrings (here & here)!
Our newly released pillowcase kits & free pillowcase pattern are the perfect gift for a new sewist and aspiring quilter! Just roll up these fabrics, tie them with a ribbon and your quilter will be spending the afternoon finishing up this quick project! Or purchase this pillowcase kit for you to make as a gift to give and attach a Lo & Behold gift card!
Amy Schelle of Sewn has made some beautiful decor items for your sewing studio and home! We love these two prints (here & here) and her coffee mugs with sewing notions. Pair these with a handmade gift from our handmade gift guide for an adorable Christmas gift!
Last but not least, stuff your favorite quilter's stocking with a few of our paper patterns and a gift card to our shop so they can choose a quilt kit to go along with it! We also have a variety of notions including solid swatches and curved acrylic templates that are the perfect addition to any quilter's sewing room.
We hope this guide inspires you with unique gifts for your favorite quilters or that you find something special for yourself! Have fun shopping!
