Petal Signature Cotton- by Spoonflower!

What is Petal Signature Cotton, you ask? Well, pull up a chair, grab some coffee and maybe a snack... and let me tell you all about it!

Petal is a simple-weave, quilting weight, basic cotton. It's perfect for quilts or any sort of craft that requires cotton! If you've used Spoonflower before, it's taking the place of Basic Cotton Ultra and Kona Cotton. Petal is a FABULOUS replacement that really checks a lot of boxes for me! The colors are vivid and clear and the weight is perfect for stitching. I also really love the weight of the cotton, it feels sturdy, yet is super soft once it's stitched up. The best part is that there are THOUSANDS (literally) of design options to choose from! I am constantly coming across new designs all the time!

One of my favorite Spoonflower designers is Katherine Quinn. Her style is so whimsy and fun, yet tasteful and sophisticated. I've worked with her fabrics several times now and I'm a big fan!

I decided to showcase these Petal cotton fabrics with a collection of Katherine Quinn designs in my Vintage Lace quilt pattern. I used just a portion of the pattern, which you can find here.

This quilt design features half square triangles and lots of negative space. Its perfect for showcasing different fabrics, which is exactly what I was looking to accomplish!

I decided to quilt this quilt with simple, straight lines. 

Overall, I really love how my quilt turned out! It is so soft, especially after washing!

On average, traditional textile manufacturing uses the equivalent of 100 two liter bottles to produce 5 yards of printed fabric.
